Online banking, credit and investing through one package

What basic, personal accounting software do you recommend? I would like to track: • income • retirement accounts • out-come, i.e. spending on credit cards and ATM debits This would preferably be done automatically — the software will contact the banks, credit card companies and other financial institutions electronically and download as much information as possible. We're eight years into the 21st C. and it doesn't seem necessary to spend one to two hours a day manually tracking and entering the day's business-related what-have-yous. I don't hold investments, but if I gamble I would like to start gambling somewhat intelligently. The software would track investment accounts — and existing retirement account components — automatically on a daily basis. In particular, I'd like to be able to view how parts of my retirement account are valued on a daily basis, which I can't do currently without manually tracking its history in an Excel spreadsheet.

Personal Finance Software for Mac Question: Deluxe 2008 Edition

Mac switcher / Intuit hater question: Is there a good alternative to Quicken for the Mac? My wife just got me a new MacBook as a pre-Valentine's day present (yes, she's awesome.) There are obvious equivalents for all of the applications I have on my old desktop (running XP), except one: Quicken. I know there's a Mac version of Quicken, but from what I hear it lacks a lot of the functionality of the Windows version. I also know that I could run the Windows version via Parallels, but that doesn't appeal to me for two reasons: a) the only reason for me to install Parallels/XP would be for Quicken, which makes the whole thing rather expensive, and b) over the last few years I've come to hate Intuit with the proverbial heat of a thousand suns just as much for their product-sunsetting, privacy-invading ways as for their insecure software. (Bastards.) So Quicken in either form is right out.

How can I better track my finances and stick to a budget when dealing with many accounts and currencies?

I'm looking for recommendations on budgeting software that is international-friendly (multiple currency support, ease of entry and import of data). Any experiences from other international users? I have been living on my own for the first time for the last year and a half, while attending university. So far, I have been able to live OK, without spending more than I earn, and without running into debt. I have been using jGnash for a while to track all of my expenses, however, a recent big expense (a short trip) has thrown my finances off balance. It's probably not such a big deal, but the balance on my credit card (which I usually pay fully, right away) is just scary. I am aware I need to do some budgeting to sort things out. I do have my emergency fund, but I don't want to blindly grab money out of it without doing some sort of planning to get back on track, and knowing how much I can afford to spend on entertainment and eating out for the following months. I now have about a year and a half worth of data I've religiously tracked, but do not know what to do with it.

Accounting software for dunces

I need accounting software that will help me manage 20-30 people's income and expenses. I am not an accountant, and write this question as a complete babe-in-the-woods in terms of accounting software. I work in an organization that helps those on different types of government assistance manage their money. We receive their funds and then disburse it to rent, bills and personal spending. All of the checks however are written through a single account not 20 different ones. Which software do I need? Being able to track all of the transfers and to categorize expe
